Sustainable and efficient facility management is becoming more and more important. VINCI Facilities Germany and DABBEL are jointly paving a new path in this field.
VINCI Facilities Germany is a subsidiary of the international VINCI Energies group and offers comprehensive and customized facility management for the public and private sectors. They support their customers in the maintenance as well as the revitalization and optimisation of buildings.
Sustainable facility management
ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) goals are becoming increasingly important in the field of building management. Buildings are responsible for approx. 40% of global CO2 emissions. Unfortunately, still ¾ of existing buildings in Europe are not designed to be energy efficient. Especially in the area of existing commercial buildings, sustainable and efficient operation is still far away. This is the biggest starting point for improvement in particular as they account for more than 95 % of the current building stock. VINCI has recognised this urgency earlier through its large international customer base.
Christian Ochßner, Head of the Building Technology Department at VINCI Facilities Germany:

Dirk Becker, Head of Operations Rhein/Ruhr at VINCI Facilities Germany:

Sustainability in building operation from “nice to have” to “must-have”.
Legislators are not the only ones pushing for more sustainability in building operations. More than ever, tenants, investors and operators of buildings are also demanding a sustainable concept over the entire life cycle. Tax increase for CO2 emissions, high energy prices and competitive pressure are just some of the reasons why all stakeholders are demanding more sustainability. After all, “green buildings” is hot subject and demand on the real estate market.
As a result, building certificates play a crucial role. For both new buildings and existing buildings, building certificates are a popular measure for assessing the quality. VINCI Facilities Germany embraces this responsibility to operate sustainable buildings and is a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
VINCI Facilities Germany and DABBEL: Holistic approach to building operations
VINCI Facilities Germany and DABBEL have recognised this potential and would like to work together in the future to make building operations more sustainable with DABBEL’s AI software solution.
DABBEL offers an AI software solution that autonomously controls the HVAC systems in a building in real time. This is done by taking numerous variables such as air quality (CO2, VOC), temperature, humidity and solar radiation into account. Thus, the HVAC system can be operated up to 40% more optimally, as it reacts dynamically and predictively to the changes. After an analysis of the building within a few days and usually without additional hardware and initial investment, the work is done. The connection can be made remotely anywhere in the world within a week of time. In the last 2 years, VINCI Facilities Germany and DABBEL have already successfully implemented several projects.
